Fine Art fall semester (sketches) FA-222 class on Portraits

A selection of some of my charcoal sketches done for my last foundation art class here at the Academy of Art University.
For the next couple of semester just more focus on my major as a 3d artist and more language arts classes (ie; english/history classes)

the final portrait did took roughly 4 hours to render using vine charcoal. A friend of my mine whom I've known now for the past few years.
The other sketches in charcoal, done using vine charcoal and willow charcoal are either models from the class and my friend Heath.

Final Portrait for FA-222 class.

rendered with Vine charcoal,
about 4-5 hours I believe,
as the semester went on I become more comfortable and faster in my approach to using vine charcoal.

Really enjoyed the process overall.

a 20 minute hand study we conducted back in the October 2018. The first half of the class was lectures and breaks, taking notes on the anatomy of the hand. Then we went with the rest of the day sketching varies hand poses.
